ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

Everyone should have the right to enjoy the arts, yet only 3. 6m of the UK's 11m disabled adults attended a live music event last year, and are often prevented from doing so by avoidable barriers. We are determined to change this and you can help. By supporting Attitude is Everything, you can help make live music accessible to all - Music Without Barriers.

Attitude is Everything is a charity that works with the music industry to improve access to live events for Deaf and disabled fans - promoting inclusivity, and enabling disabled audiences to participate in gigs and festivals across the UK. So far, more than 125 venues and outdoor events have signed up to our Charter of Best Practice, and over the past 16 years, Attitude is Everything has supported more than 1,000 organisations to improve their accessibility, trained over 5000 industry professionals and provided more than 500 opportunities for Deaf and disabled people to volunteer at festivals.

By working in partnership with the music industry we are making a real difference - dramatically increasing the numbers of Deaf and disabled fans going to live music events. Last year, almost 144,000 disabled people attended venues and festivals signed up to the Charter.

As a result of our work, disabled people's engagement with live music has grown from 23% in 2008 to 37% (Department of Culture Media and Sport's Taking Part Survey, 2015) - but with the non-disabled figure at 47%, equality remains some way off. There is still a huge amount for us to strive for before Music Without Barriers is achieved.

FRAMEWORK

Framework is a charity that exists to tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness and operates throughout Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire. We change and protect lives in three main ways; by preventing homelessness, by helping people who are homeless, by providing opportunities and helping people to live independent lives. Last year Framework supported over 11,000 individuals.

We provide a variety of services ranging from street outreach, supported accommodation, move-on accommodation, treatment and support services, volunteering and training opportunities. Homelessness is a complicated issue. It has no single cause and no single solution. Everyone who seeks our help has their own reason for doing so, and their own unique story to tell. For that reason we work with a wide range of people with a variety of needs.

Getting people off the streets saves and transforms lives. In Nottingham we have the highest number of rough sleepers in 20 years. This is a rough sleeping crisis that is affecting every major city in the country including Nottingham where our Outreach Team is finding more than 30 people on the streets a night.

Support from the broader community is increasingly important and ensures continued support for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
