Colours is one of East London’s most vital small music venues, with Florence & The Machine, Foals, Grimes, Foals, Mumford & Sons, Django Django, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Lianne La Havas, Grimes, Vampire Weekend and Savages all having played the venue’s 300 capacity live room early in their careers. Live highlights in the last 12 months have included Blossoms, Ella Mai, Khruangbin, Aldous Harding, Kaki King, Basia Bulat, Ray BLK, Nilufer Yanya, Jameszoo, Sarathy Korwar, Hannah Georgas, Avelino, The Warlocks and Raye and guest appearances from Stormzy and Paloma Faith. DJ highlights include, The Revenge, Erol Alkan, DJ Gilla, Psychemagik and The Reflex as well as hugely popular regulars like Tim Westwood’s residency and music-led culture events like Gospeloke and Love Space Time. Mothership Group (the team behind The Book Club, Queen of Hoxton, and Patterns in Brighton) took over the venue in December 2015. With a firm priority on safeguarding the venue’s live legacy they have also been developing a more diverse club programme, as well as culture events including film screenings and photography exhibitions like Origins East - an exhibition celebrating 80's and 90's and 00's rave culture.
