After this week announcing a headline show at The Bodega, what a great time to check in with our friend Brad Dear to chat about new music, his quarantine live-streaming and of course October's show.

You’ve been teasing a new single ‘Nothing’ on your socials, do you have any news on when that’s coming out and what we can expect from it?

I do actually and its good news we were lucky enough to get most things recorded before the lockdown, so we should have something out very, very soon!

I'd say expect something a little different, as it's a bit more rock n roll, but sticking with the raw feel of what I do. I'm excited to get it out there and see what people think.

You’ve recently announced a headline show at The Bodega on 24th October. Do you approach headline shows differently from support slots?

I have and I'm very excited for the show I can't wait to be headlining The Bodega again It's such an awesome venue!

Not really if I'm honest, I think that rehearsing so you know the set inside out is important as well as playing to the best of my ability whether I'm playing a headline show or support show, however a few warm up shows in the local pub to blow the cobwebs off may be in order before we play The Bodega if the lockdown continues.

We’ve tuned into a lot of your live streams since lockdown. How important do you think it is to connect with your fans in this way?

I think its very important as firstly streaming weekly gives myself and my fans something positive to look forward to as well as being a great way to interact with each other.

I also love playing live in whatever form solo, full band and now live on Facebook but I've still got to get used to not reading comments while playing as I'm not great at multi tasking that said its really been great to see people checking up on each other in the comments and making sure everyone has got what they need, I'm very humbled by the amazing fans I have!

What are your plans for when we see a bit of normality? Is there a new album or tour in the works?

I'm hoping to embark on my first headline tour mid October and continue through to November this Autumn with a few bigger dates, supporting a band alongside a new EP ready for a new album in 2021. I've just got to finish writing the last few songs and there may start to be a few acoustic versions posted up onto my Facebook page and YouTube channel in the coming weeks.

We’re currently creating an alt. tickets Social Distancing Survival Guide – where we choose 3 albums, 3 movies, a boxset and a podcast – what would your choices be?
